Busselton Jetty
The Busselton Jetty stretches almost 2km out to sea and is one of the longest timber-piled jetties in the world. You can walk it or catch a miniature train to the end where you will find a fascinating Underwater Observatory 8 metres below sea level (wheelchair accessible). Beneath the glimmering surface of the ocean there is also a world-class dive site.
Whale Watching
Naturaliste Charters invites you to experience the breathtaking spectacle of whale migration along Western Australia’s South West coast. From May to August, tours depart from the picturesque town of Augusta, where humpback and southern right whales can be seen during their northern 2migration to warmer breeding grounds. Lighthouse
Take a day trip to one or both of the region's historic lighthouses—the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse (on the northern end of Cape Naturaliste) and the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse (at the southern end near Augusta). You'll be rewarded with breathtaking ocean views and hear tales of shipwrecks and life as a lighthouse keeper.
Caves
For the ultimate underground adventure, discover an ancient wonderland below ground in one of the region’s caves. Marvel at the huge stalactites in Jewel Cave and see the fascinating fossils in Mammoth Cave. There are different caves and different tours – some are guided and some are self-guided. Some are run by the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association and some by WA’s Parks and Wildlife Service. Take your pick!
History
There’s plenty for the history buffs to see and do in and around Busselton.
Or stroll into Busselton town to the heritage-listed Old Courthouse Complex in the ArtGeo cultural precinct. Wander through the Courtrooms, Magistrates Room, Bond Store, Police Station, Gaol Cells and Exercise Yard and learn about the colourful law and order history and notorious characters that frequented these buildings.
